A Quick Visit to Charles Town Races

I went to Charles Town Races last night with friends but we only stayed for a few races. This is the first time I've been there on a summer weekend night and it was very crowded, great for the industry but not so great for getting lots of photos as I had to elbow my way to the rail. Here are a few shots.

In the third race, it was a photo finish. Forbes (#8) moved up three and four wide and then in a long drive was first to the wire. Samba Sarava, in the middle, drew even in the stretch but just missed at the finish. Last Tribute was well positioned on the rail, gained a slim lead down the backstretch and led until the final strides.

Down Town Allen and I Got a Answer go down to the start in the Its Binn Too Long Stakes race for three year old fillies.

Down Town Allen with Mathew McGowan drew away around the turn and remained well clear to the finish.

In the fifth race, Big Merle and Joshua Navarro took the lead in the upper stretch and then drew off.
