Old Dominion Point-to-Point

The Old Dominion Hounds point-to-point races were held at Ben Venue Farm on Saturday. Ben Venue provides one of the best race courses for spectators on the point-to-point circuit, with great views of the beautiful countryside from the hilltop. These are some photos from the day; many more are available on Susan M. Carter Photography.

Greg Ryan announced his retirement after riding Dynantonia in the open hurdle. Greg holds the record for them most wins as an amateur steeplechase jockey in the U.S.

Earlier in the day, Greg won the amateur/novice rider hurdle on Devil's Preacher.

Liam McVicar and Over the Lea won the Virginia bred flat race for the second time in as many weeks.

Muiris Hinchion and Triton Light won the maiden hurdle.

Ben Garner won the open timber, the second division of the novice rider flat and came in second in the first division of the novice rider flat.

Michael Harris rode Mariah's Promise in the novice rider flat.
